Check out this vid, guys. It’s Stanley clarke’s School days, but with a plethora of great bass players. The players included in this jam are:

I could go on about the techniques and tones in this video, but it would take me days, and I wouldn’t want to bore you! So i’m focusing on one, that being Flea’s. His solo starts at about three minutes in, after Stanley gives him the nod. He uses a lovely tone, and plays very “un-flea like”, if you see what I’m saying. Flea has an amazing ear for music and tone, which is obvious from his early chili pepper jams. Unfortunately, people tend to judge him on later recordings, which isn’t entirely fair, as he is a versatile and clever bass player in my opinion!
