…making better bass players with Kris Rodgers A.K.A Dmanlamius
As mentioned in a link from here
This is really bad for me. Not only do I love to watch music videos, I use them to learn finger positioning which I then use to teach you guys. Also, I don’t tend to have many cd’s or Mp3′s anymore because if I fancy listening to a song, I just click and watch on youtube these days!
Also, I won’t be able to do any “playalongs” like I do in most of my videos.
But what I’m wondering about is that if the PRS can’t come to an agreement about music vid’s, then where does it stand on doing covers of other people’s songs? Surely that is also copyright infringement, and there are millions of cover versions of songs on youtube?
This then comes down to the teaching of songs…
It’s all a bit annoying for me. The PRS are normally a good body that protects musicians. They have been doing it for years, so I’m certain it’s Google who are being greedy. I don’t really care. As an “average joe” who loves his music, this has come as a pain in the proverbial backside, and I hope they will come to some sort of agreement…
