Are there any exercises that will help increase the picking speed on my right hand, or does that just come with time and practicing scales and stuff?

Yea, it comes with time. Just practice as much as you can, and focus on getting that hand quicker.
Do the major scale, and keep trying to increase the speed. But, don’t move to fast. Start really slow….REALLY slow, and build up speed. Eventually, it’ll get quicker.
Tell me how it goes
